Shalini Joins — On Her Own Terms

In 1992, Shalini Nath-Walia joins Nath Companies — but on her own terms. It was her idea to start at the bottom of the corporate ladder, not Mahendra’s directive. She had been working as an auditor at Coopers & Lybrand, and proposed starting as an Assistant General Manager at a Burger King in Minnesota. She wanted to understand the business from the ground up before moving into leadership.
